About Us
At OW Resolve we strive to prevent workplace conflicts before they arise and maximise the productivity potential within work teams. By offering discreet and early intervention services, we identify growing tensions and transform struggling relationships into productive ones.
Conflict, when left unchecked, can damage relationships, productivity and morale. Our skilled mediators aim to “oil the wheels” of communication between colleagues, helping to repair fractured relationships as a first response, rather than a last resort.
At OW Resolve we provide two tailored approaches to address workplace conflict effectively:
Mediation and Collaboration are tools for a proactive way to unlock difficulties and enhance future working patterns.
Why choose OW Resolve?
Swift:
OW Resolve products can be arranged within 48 hours of an initial request, so it saves time and stress compared with pursuing more formal routes to resolution.
Timely:
OW Resolve products can be applied at any stage in the work environment and between any person(s) who requires the assistance of a mediator or facilitator.
Bespoke:
We can work with individuals, teams, pairs, departments, across all levels of management up to the board.
Adaptable:
The issues to be addressed can be minor or major, our services will help. We can adapt to most circumstances.
Anti-inflammatory:
The mediator or facilitator will only share information between the parties with permission to do so, making the process a perfect platform for thinking aloud and considering all the options, exploring every corner of the matter, to work towards a solution.
Synergistic:
We will use various methods to facilitate a conversation such as questions, reality testing, brainstorming and use of psychometric testing making use of a range of interpersonal tools. We do not offer advice, allowing participants space, time, and the freedom to consider all their options and angles to reach a positive outcome.
Independent:
We facilitate open conversations that might otherwise be too challenging, embarrassing, or contentious to hold with other colleagues, without the intervention of our experts.
How might it typically work?
Introduction, Ground Rules
and Setting the Stage
The mediator begins by introducing themselves and explaining their role as an impartial facilitator. We outline the ground rules for the session, emphasising confidentiality, respect, and open communication.
Each party has the opportunity to share their perspective on the issue at hand. This is done in a respectful manner, allowing everyone to express their feelings and viewpoints without interruption.
Clarification of Issues
The mediator helps clarify the key issues and concerns raised by each party. This step ensures that all aspects of the conflict are understood and acknowledged. Participants are encouraged to discuss their underlying interests and needs rather than just their positions. This exploration helps identify common ground and potential areas for compromise.
Problem-Solving and Negotiation
The mediator guides the parties in brainstorming potential solutions. This collaborative approach allows for creative options that may satisfy both sides. Once potential solutions are identified, the parties negotiate the terms of an agreement. The mediator facilitates this discussion, ensuring that it remains constructive and focused.
Reaching an Agreement
If the parties can agree on a solution, the mediator helps them outline the terms clearly. While this agreement is typically not legally binding, it serves as a moral commitment to resolve the conflict.
Throughout this process, the mediator plays a crucial role in maintaining a respectful environment, guiding discussions, and helping both parties feel heard and understood. The ultimate goal is to foster a collaborative resolution that enhances workplace relationships and reduces future conflicts.
Closing the Session
The mediator summarises the key points discussed and the agreed-upon solutions. They may also encourage the parties to follow up on their agreement and discuss ways to improve their working relationship moving forward. In some cases, the mediator may suggest follow-up sessions to check in on the progress of the agreement and address any lingering issues.
