He qualified as a Solicitor in 1996 and joined Scott-Moncrieff in 2012. He is a member of the Police Action Lawyers Group (PALG), Former Law Society Accredited Personal Injury Specialist. He has extensive High Court and County Court experience including High Court trial experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cases:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Terence acted in the internationally reported case of Alexis v Newham London Borough Council [2009] EWHC 1323 (QB). The case established the principle that education authorities may be held liable for the consequences of the acts of unsupervised pupils who misbehave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He settled a catastrophic Clinical Negligence claim recovering in excess of \u00a39 million (on predicted life expectancy).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 12 months he settled clinical negligence and personal injury claims with a total value of \u00a311.5 million. Settled a claim where a female Claimant&#8217;s spinal accessory nerve was negligently damaged resulting in restricted movement in her left arm. The \u00a3170,000 settlement included \u00a3100,000 for future child care and home help costs even though the claimant was several years from attempting to start a family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Alison Richardson v The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Assault, wrongful arrest malicious prosecution, false imprisonment &#8211; damages paid &#8211; unprecedented public apology made by DS Nick Westwood of the Met Police on 7th January 2012 at claimant&#8217;s church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The claimant was of exemplary character. This case was brought against the Met following the claimant&#8217;s successful appeal against conviction (the claimant had served more than half of her sentence).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The case was widely reported in the press and on local radio (Mail online, Telegraph, Evening Standard, LBC Radio (Nick Ferrari&#8217;s breakfast show) ITV London Tonight and in multiple news reports following dissemination by the Press Association also on Youtube).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Report in the Daily Mail<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Report in the Telegraph<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technology (IT):<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Terence is at the cutting edge when it comes to using the latest technology to interact with his clients and offers his clients the convenience of videoconferencing via smartphone, tablet, Mac or PC (FaceTime, Tango, Skype, Google Hangouts) and incorporates letter via text messaging in addition to email to optimize client communications. Therefore with video conferencing, virtual face- to-face meetings with clients ensures that distance is no obstacle and time and expense is spared hence Terence acts for clients nationally and can even link up with clients, witnesses or experts when he or they are abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Terence also runs technology workshops for solicitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interests:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keen guitarist, George Benson and Wes Montgomery guitar influences.
